Footskills & Free Play
The Footskills and Free Play program does exactly what it says in the description. For the first part of a 90-minute session, players participate in Illinois Skill Schools' renowned skills training program that includes first touch, ball mastery, skill development, and 1 on 1 to 4 on 4 activities and games. The sessions are designed to maximize the number of touches and develop the players' soccer techniques that are essential to be an effective and strong player. During the part of the practice, players take part in a free play, round-robin tournament where they play 2-3 games each week. The tournaments have a theme each week - World Cup, Premier League, La Liga, etc.
The Skill Academy provides the highest-quality, skill-specific soccer training environment for 6-14 year olds. Based on the "Numbers Approach Methodology," the sessions are designed to develop the whole player/person with an emphasis on skill, individuality and skill transfer to the game. The Skill Academy is designed for high-level travel players.
The Illinois Skill Schools Futsal Academy combines the most effective soccer skills training methodology with the game of futsal. Players are taught how, when, and why to use up to 65 individual skills. They are also taught the important technical and tactical aspects of the game of futsal. Futsal is a smaller version of soccer (teams of 5) that is played on a hard surface with a weighted/limited ball. The smaller numbers, hard surface, and ball lend themselves to many opportunities for players to make quick decisions, combine with teammates, and perform skills.
